Our cooking team, under the leadership of Max Nikolic, conjure up gourmet dishes with just the right balance of tradition and international flair. With a sixth sense for creativity and a passion for cooking, they can really put the icing on the metaphorical cake. Equally, we as gourmet hoteliers put great emphasis on local sourced seasonal produce, and know exactly where our ingredients originated.
Our organic dishes ensure that vegetarians are also well-catered for. On request and with sufficient prior notification, we are happy to offer vegan and gluten-free alternatives.
Our luxury half board arrangement offers both hotel guests and non-residents a gourmet cuisine which is both inventive and tasty.

Sonnenburg Luxury half board consists of a generous and varied breakfast buffet and a 5-course evening meal, including a buffet with a choice of fresh salads and great starters. The restaurant offers a wide selection of delicious food, enabling guests to discover new specialities and enjoy old favourites with a great new twist.
Since all our ingredients are of the very best quality, you are certain to enjoy your meal, whatever you choose. Depending on the time of year, our cuisine benefits from the special freshness and intensity of the fresh herbs and leaves picked in our own garden.

Our love of nature and passion for simple good food are immediately obvious. As a result, our cuisine, which is influenced by the changing seasons, focuses on the one most important aspect: tastiness. Thanks to modern preparation techniques, even the simplest ingredients are transformed into creative culinary compositions. Traditional dishes rub shoulders with new trends and blend with gastronomic traits from the furthest corners of the globe. Our menu also always includes a small but discerning selection of dishes for vegetarians.
RESPONSIBLE ENJOYMENT
The Kleinwalsertal is one of Austria’s gourmet regions. As one of 13 gourmet hotels in the valley we support guaranteed proof of origin and quality control. That is why we buy our beef and veal directly from the Walser farmers. We check the origins and husbandry methods involved, and use the whole animal “from nose to tail”, which we see as a way of expressing respect for a living being.
We know our suppliers personally, keep transport distances as short as possible, order all our food from within a radius of 50 km and concentrate on using local seasonal produce where possible. In this way make a small contribution to uphold the sensitive interacting balance between nature, traditional landscape and sustainable agriculture.
