A BIKE RIDE INTO THE BÄRGUNTTAL
Starting out from the Genuss & Aktivhotel Sonnenburg, this (E-) mountain bike tour heads off towards the Mahdtalhaus. From here we cycle further to Naturbrücke, past Hammerer coach hire towards the fox farm, and finally follow the mountain track as it ascends to Baad. Here, leaving the car park behind us, we cruise over the Bärguntbach bridge and follow the forestry road into the Bärgunttal. After a short while we turn off left and soon reach the beautiful Widdersteinalpe, where we take our first break. The gravel track continues through thick woods and out into open countryside to the Bärgunt hut, our second stopping place, where homemade local refreshments are available. We ride back to Baad along the left bank of the Bärguntbach and along the Breitach back to Riezlern and the Sonnenburg.
