On the sunny side of the Kleinwalsertal

The hotel’s unique panoramic location really enhances its congenial ambience. Easily accessible and yet extraordinarily peaceful, the Sonnenburg is located in the “Schwende” district. This is actually part of Riezlern, which is renowned for being the “sunny side of the Kleinwalsertal”. As a result, our terrace receives more hours of sunshine than other villages in the valley, and an extra portion of vitamin D.

Right on the cross-country ski circuit

Its location makes the Sonnenburg the perfect starting point for an activity holiday in the Kleinwalsertal. Countless walking and bike tours begin right outside the hotel (as does the local border crossing). In winter, it is a paradise for skiers, freeriders and ski tourers. The free Walser bus stops outside the hotel and connects with all the cable cars and other attractions in the Kleinwalsertal-Oberstdorf region. And cross country skiers can set off on the Schwende circuit right outside the hotel.
